Recorded in the One Night Music Studio, Santa Barbara, CA on December 19, 2008.

I first heard about Erland when he was playing at a house party in Santa Barbara.  I checked out his music on Myspace beforehand, was intruigued, and decided to go to the show.  Inviting Erland back to One Night Music to record a session was an exciting way to watch the music community come full circle.  Myspace to house party to One Night Music.

Noticable in Erland's performance is an unusual ease and calm.  He seems to have no nerves about performing.  He completely understood the One Night Music space and conducted his performances with confidence and character - giving candid explanations to his songs in the banter that resides between.  His lyrics tell tales of an old soul that has experienced more than his age of 23 would imply. 

Erland moved back to Santa Barbara about 6 months before this session and has found that his music thrives in California where it recalls such influences as Jack Johnson, Brett Dennen, and Ben Harper.  He is working to develop a music career for himself and is in the process of courting record labels.
